American Cockroach Stage 1: Eggs
A female cockroach will produce multiple eggs at once that stay safe inside an egg case. This case is dark brown and smooth in appearance. The female will hide her egg case in crevices and cracks to ensure optimal safety. Each egg case can contain roughly 15 eggs and will hatch 1 – 2 months after it has exited the female.
American Cockroach Stage 2: Nymph
The nymph stage of the American cockroach is commonly recognized by the size and light-red color of the cockroach’s outer layer. Nymph cockroaches are less than an inch long and will shed their skin during molting sessions. These skin particles and a cockroaches’ fecal droppings are two allergy culprits inside the home! As a nymph ages, its skin color will darken, and it will grow longer.
American Cockroach Stage 3: Adult
American adult cockroaches can grow upwards of two inches and showcase a dark brownish black skin. They can grow wings which contributes to their escape route when you try to kill them in your home. Adult female cockroaches can produce up to 150 eggs, as well.
